Actress Nse Ikpe-Etim Discusses How She felt After Learning She Cannot Bear children
The veteran actress in an interview revealed her state hearing she cannot bear children.
Nollywood actress Nse Ikpe-Etim has divulged in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo how she felt learning she cannot bear children of her own.
After being diagnosed with adenomyosis (a medical condition characterized by the growth of cells that build up the inside of the uterus), the 47-year-old veteran actress revealed she needed a hysterectomy (uterus removal) to live a normal life.
When asked if she was embarrassed about her inability to have children of her own, Nse replied: “Finding out I couldn’t have children didn’t make me feel ashamed. I felt inadequate.
“I felt inadequate as a woman but not ashamed, which was because of how I was brought up.
“Where I’m from we don’t tie shame to ourselves. Where I was brought up, we live through life fully.”
When asked if she is open to adoption, Nse said: “You never say never, but right now, my husband and I just dog parents.
“People should be allowed to live, my husband and I are okay right now.”
Nse and her husband celebrated nine years marriage anniversary in February.
