Comic actor, Cute Abiola leaves Navy hours after Kwara govt appointment
Famous skit maker and comic actor, Abdulgafar Ahma professionally known as Cute Abiola, has announced he is leaving the Nigerian Navy for entertainment.
The comic actor’s departure came hours after Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, appointed him as his Special Assistant on Creative Industries.
Cute Abiola, who made the announcement on his verified Facebook account on Friday, said the approval of his departure was made by the Chief of Naval Staff.
The skitmaker said he would focus more on his career in the entertainment industry.
He claims that his time in the Navy has helped him develop the discipline he needs to succeed in life.
“I am still a part of the Nigerian Navy family, and I promise to continue to positively represent the Nigerian Navy either in Nigeria or abroad. I am proud to have served in such an institution as the Nigerian Navy,” he said.
The skit content creator praised Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, the Chief of Naval Staff, and senior colleagues for their enormous contributions to his professional progress and referred to the Nigerian Navy as his road map to a long-term career path.
The Nigerian Navy apprehended and disciplined the skit creator earlier in November 2021 for breaking the armed forces’ social media code after he posted a video of himself in military garb online.
