OsunDecides 2022:PDP Candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke Wins 17 LGS
Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has received the most votes from 17 of Osun State’s 30 local governments [LGS].
The Independent National Electoral Commission officially declared the results of the governorship election in Osun State held on Saturday.
Incumbent Governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress Party, his closest rival, won in 13 Local Government Areas.
Adeleke received 403, 371 votes from 30 LGAs, while Oyetola received 375, 027 votes.
Boripe, Ilesa East, Ayedire, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Ayedaade, Iwo, Olaoluwa, Isokan, Atakumosa East, Ife South, Ife Central, and Ife East are the Local Governments won by the APC.
Ede North, Ede South, Ifelodun, Boluwaduro, Egbedore, Odo Otin, Osogbo, Ila, Atakumosa West, Olorunda, Ilesa West, Obokun, Oriade, Orolu, Ife North, Irepodun, and Ejigbo were all won by the PDP.
The election was held amid tight security across the state’s 30 local government areas, with political parties using new methods of vote buying.
It also saw a massive voter turnout, with large voters turning up to exercise their franchise.
