President Buhari Orders All Ministers, Aides Pursuing Elective Positions In 2023 To Resign
The Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohamed, made this known during Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.
President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has directed that all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) pursuing elective positions should submit tender letters of resignation on or before Monday the 16th of May, 2022.

The Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohamed, made this known during Wednesday’s the Federal Executive Council meeting.
He stated that the directive does not apply to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo because he is an elected member of the cabinet.
Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation; Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba, Minister of Education; Chris Nigige, Minister of Labour and Productivity; Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs; and Timipre Sylva, Minister of Petroleum Resources, have all declared their intention to run for president.
Mallam Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has also expressed interest in becoming governor of his home state of Kebbi.
