Aaron Ramsey: Rangers has completed the signing of Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on loan until the end of the season.

Rangers secured a loan deal for the rest of the season for Wales international and former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Italian giants Juventus. It comes as a surprise that Premier League clubs did not acquire the experienced midfielder.

Aaron Ramsey joins reigning Scottish Champions Rangers on loan till the end of the season from Juventus.

Aaron Ramsey arrival is seen as a big coup for the Scottish Premiership leaders, with Juventus agreeing to a wage package that will allow him to fit into the Ibrox wage structure.

Aaron Ramsey, who played 83 times for Juventus, might make his Rangers debut on Wednesday against Celtic in the old firm derby. Several Premier League clubs were interested in the Wales international, who has 20 goals in 71 outings for his country.

“I had a number of offers on the table, but none matched the magnitude of this club, with European football and the chance to play in front of 50,000 fans every other week.

“I have had some fantastic conversations with the manager and Ross Wilson, and I’m really looking forward to working with both of them, and to meeting the supporters.”

“I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to add a player of Aaron’s quality, experience and leadership to our squad.

“As soon as it was mooted as a possibility, I was really keen for us to try everything to get the deal done, and huge credit must go to Ross and to the Board for the work they have put in on this.

“I look forward to welcoming Aaron to the training centre tomorrow.”

Ross Wilson, Sporting Director added: “This is a really exciting signing for both Rangers and Aaron. As soon as I was made aware of the opportunity we had to bring Aaron to Rangers around a week ago, we have worked really hard to secure his signature.

“Not only is Aaron a world-class player who will play a key role in our team, but his level of ability and professional standards will also be an inspiration to our existing players.

“We see Aaron as a leader, a quality player and a wonderful character to bring into our club. I’ve admired his career since his emergence at Cardiff and across Arsenal, Juventus and with Wales. We are all looking forward to working with him closely.

“I am thankful to Juventus for their professional approach and discretion. Juventus and Aaron had many significant offers from elsewhere and we are delighted that he has chosen Rangers.

“Any agreement we reach has to be within our normal wage model and Aaron’s desire to play here has enabled us to achieve this with Juventus’s cooperation.”

Aaron Ramsey will likely warmly remember his time at Juventus, the success he’s had, and the chance to immerse himself in a different footballing culture, but at 31, and with a significant portion of his career still ahead of him, he can’t continue to appear as infrequently as he has.

Ramsey’s departure from Juventus might suit both the club and the player, with Juventus allegedly willing to get Ramsey’s big contract off the books.

Aaron Ramsey performances for Wales since moving to Juventus, rather than his final-season troubles in Turin, provide a greater indication of his continuing prowess and potential appropriateness to Rangers.

Aaron has scored 13 more goals for his country since joining Juventus than he has for Juventus, despite playing three times as many Serie A games.

Ramsey, a three-time FA Cup winner, would certainly add star power to Giovani van Bronckhorst’s squad, which is poised to retain the Scottish Premiership title in 2022.
