Wike and his group have drawn battle line with the North-Arewa group
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has come under fire from the Northern Awareness Movement (NAM) for his relentless verbal attacks on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and has been compared to a smear campaign on the whole Northern part of the nation.
In response to Wike’s unrelenting attacks on Atiku, its coordinator, Muhammed Inuwa, said in a statement released on Thursday that it is now essential to call Wike to order and call him on his bluff before he verbally pukes fire on the nation as a whole.
Wike’s failure to win the PDP’s presidential nomination marked the beginning of the party’s internal conflict.
However, attempts to appease Wike’s camp have since run into strong opposition.
Since steps have been made to appease Wike and his group, Inuwa remarked that it is now crucial to realize that the overall screams have an undertone.
The group made it plain that if Wike and his allies continued their relentless attacks on the area, other sister Arewa groups would not hesitate to punish them as enemies of the North.
“We have gotten credible intelligence that the entire crisis is targeted at a particular section of the country, which is the North.
“We have it on good authority and evidence abounds with facts and figures at various times that Wike and his men have gone to press to disparage the North.
“We hereby conclude, without any iota of doubt, that Wike and his group have drawn the battle line with the North. The Northern Awareness Movement hereby calls on every well-meaning and patriotic citizen of this country to prevail on Wike to put a stop to any attempt to undermine the North,” Inuwa said.
